- Dogs and cats at least eight weeks old, fully weaned2
- Routes
- Domestic routes, plus Hawaii and international for dogs and cats with extra documentation2

- Details
- Pet and carrier no more than 150 lbs combined. Only dogs and cats to Hawaii and international locations.31
- Breed limits
- Brachycephalic dogs and cats, including Pugs, Boxers, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, Persians and Himalayans, are not accepted in the baggage compartment. They may fly in cabin.3
- Heat and seasonal limits
- No calendar dates listed. Alaska may decline baggage compartment pets when temperatures at origin, destination or connecting airports exceed certain limits.3
Service animals and booking
- Service animals
- Service dogs only. Submit the DOT Service Animal Air Transportation Form 48 hours before departure, or at check-in if booked within 48 hours.4
- How to book a pet
- Call reservations at 1-800-252-7522 or chat. Book before the day of travel. Space is first come, first served.23
- Emotional support animals
- Not accepted as service animals. They can travel as pets under the pet rules.4
